FIAP = La Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique

Its purpose is the promotion of photographic art under all its aspects and by all kinds of photographic events. All considerations of political, ideological or racial order are absolutely banned from the activities of FIAP.

La FIAP was founded by DR. M. Vande Wijer, belgian, who has established links between different national photographic associations through the world, since 1946.
The first Congress, the official act of the fondation of FIAP, took place in Bern (Switzerland) in 1950, with the participation of delegates from ten countries.

The FIAP is an international federation which affiliates as operational members, the national associations of photography. FIAP counts more than 85 national associations in the five continents and represents the benefits of nearly one million individual photographers. Since September 2004, camera-clubs and regional groups ouf clubs can join FIAP, under some conditions.

Det kan søkes om forskjellige utmerkelser etter visse regler:

AFIAP – Artist FIAP
AFIAP kan søkes når det er gått 1 år fra første antatte bilde. Deretter må søkeren ha fått 40 antatte med minst 15 forskjellige bilder i 15 ulike salonger i minst 8 forskjellige land. 10% av de antatt bildene skal være i papirklasser. De bilder som innleveres med søknaden, skal ha oppnådd minst 3 antatte hver.

EFIAP – Excellence FIAP
EFIAP kan søkes tidligst 1 år (det er dato for tildeling av hederstegnet som gjelder) etter at søkeren har fått tildelt AFIAP For å kunne søke EFIAP må søkeren ha minimum 250 antatte med minst 50 forskjellige bilder i 30 ulike salonger i minst 20 forskjellige land. Kravet for EFIAP gjelder totalt antall, så bilder som er medregnet i AFIAP hederstegnet kan også telles med. 10% av de antatt bildene skal være i papirklasser. De bilder som innleveres med søknaden, skal ha oppnådd minst 3 antatte hver.
